The USDA Business & Industry Guaranteed Loan Program can help eligible businesses in qualifying rural areas obtain financing through approved commercial lenders.

Who USDA B&I financing is designed for

The program supports creditworthy businesses whose project is located in an eligible rural area. "Rural" does not necessarily mean remote farmland; many growing communities outside major urban boundaries may qualify. Eligibility depends on the project address, business purpose and current USDA rules.

Common uses of proceeds

Depending on the transaction, USDA B&I financing may be used for business acquisitions, real estate purchases, construction or improvements, machinery and equipment, startup costs in eligible cases, working capital and qualifying debt refinancing. The lender makes and services the loan while USDA provides a guarantee.

How rates and terms are set

Interest rates are negotiated between the lender and borrower and may be fixed or variable, subject to USDA requirements. Fees and guarantee percentages are program-specific and can change, so every quote should show a clear as-of date and be confirmed before publication or commitment.

How Market Capital Lending helps

The first step is confirming that both the location and use of proceeds are eligible. Market Capital Lending then evaluates cash flow, collateral and project structure and identifies a participating lender with appetite for the industry and geography. As a veteran-owned firm based in Loganville and serving metro Atlanta and 46 states, Market Capital Lending draws on more than 40 years of combined lending experience, a network of 40–50 lenders and over $375M in closed loans to help match rural business borrowers with the right USDA B&I lender. Businesses weighing commercial real estate or SBA loans alongside USDA B&I can discuss their project to compare options.
